*Blue lake and sky in Lutry. Original Oil Painting of Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Plein Air Landscape Art

This original plein-air oil painting was created in Lutry, Switzerland, on 19 August 2026, on the shores of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva). Painted directly outdoors, the work captures a panoramic view of the lake, the surrounding Alpine mountains and the open summer sky.

The composition brings together clear blue water, distant mountain ridges and delicate clouds scattered across a luminous sky. A small white sailboat crosses the lake, introducing a subtle sense of movement into the vast landscape. Shades of turquoise, cerulean blue, lavender and violet create an atmosphere of clarity, depth and summer light.

Lutry lies at the entrance to the Lavaux region, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape known for its terraced vineyards overlooking Lake Geneva. The meeting of water, mountains and sky gives this part of Switzerland its distinctive visual character.

Rather than focusing on a single landmark, the painting explores the relationship between colour, light and distance. The panoramic format emphasises the horizontal rhythm of the lake and the mountain ranges, inviting the viewer to experience the openness and tranquillity of the Léman landscape.

Created during a single plein-air painting session, this original artwork preserves a direct encounter with the changing light of the Swiss summer. It belongs to Olga Tacan’s ongoing CERULEANISTIQUE project, dedicated to painting the landscapes of Lutry, Lavaux and the shores of Lake Geneva.
